The 2022 BMW X1 is available in two model variations across Canada: sDrive28i (front-wheel drive) and xDrive28i (all-wheel drive). The FWD model starts at $35,400 while the AWD model starts at $37,400. Both models offer the same standard features and only differ in drivetrain. They offer a ton of standard driver-assistance features, such as active driving assistant and frontal collision warning with city collision mitigation, in addition to high-tech features such as power front seats, navigation business, and more.
Performance
All models of the 2022 BMW X1 are built with a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It delivers 228 horsepower with either the standard FWD or the optional AWD.
Drivers of the X1 get one of the faster models in the subcompact class with the BMW rocketing to 97 km/h in 6.3 seconds. Even with its turbo engine, the X1 sips fuel, providing drivers with longer periods of time between fill-ups thanks to the 7.1 L/100km highway fuel economy for the FWD model (7.6 L/100km for AWD).
Interior
Drivers should expect nothing less than the highest quality in a BMW's interior, and the X1 does not disappoint. Nicely appointed, the cabin environment features a driver-focused layout and sporty personality. BMW provides a host of different packages and options so that drivers can customise this four-door Sports Activity Vehicle to their liking.
Drivers of this subcompact SUV will be shocked at its interior space, with the cargo area holding over 760 litres with the rear seats up and over 1,660 litres with the rear seats folded.
Technology
The luxurious appointments found in the 2022 BMW X1 do not stop at just the surface level of the vehicle. Each X1 features an 8.8-inch iDrive touchscreen infotainment system that comes with in-dash navigation, Apple CarPlay connectivity, Bluetooth connectivity, SiriusXM satellite radio, a USB port, and seven-speaker audio system.
