Notable Changes from the Previous Year
The new 530i xDrive Sedan delivers a better performance than its predecessor. It now has 255 horsepower and a torque capacity of 295 lb-ft, which allows the vehicle to go from 0 to 100km in just 6.1 seconds.
Performance Specs
This trim has an AWD drivetrain, a hybrid electric motor, and a 2.0L 4 Cylinder Turbo engine with improved horsepower and torque. The eight-speed automatic transmission has shift paddles, a Steptronic transmission, and a driver-selectable mode. There’s no official information regarding fuel consumption, but it’s expected to deliver about 8.9 L / 100 km of combined fuel efficiency.
Design Elements
All seats are covered with black perforated and quilted Veganza leatherette door trim inserts, adding style and comfort. There are 12-way seats for everyone and cupholders for both rows of seats. The steering wheel is wrapped in leather and equipped with Auto Tilt-Away, mounted on a telescoping steering column.
Alpine white non-metallic is the standard exterior colour, but you can choose from eight metallic colours and three BWM-exclusive colours if you don’t mind paying extra. The sedan has body-colour front and rear bumpers, door handles and heated side mirrors, which also come with turn signal indicators. The light-tinted glass contrasts nicely with the rest of the palette, while the metal-looking accents on the black grille and galvanized steel/aluminium panels add a bright touch.
Technology and Safety
Entertainment features include a Harman Kardon premium sound system, streaming audio, and two LCD monitors. The standard package also includes a 1-year Platinum subscription for SiriusXM 360L, a digital signal processor, and Bluetooth wireless connectivity. The radio system adjusts volume controls according to the vehicle’s speed, steering wheel controls, and voice activation. The dual-zone air conditioning system can also be activated by voice command.
The 530i xDrive is packed with plenty of safety features, including parking sensors and anti-lock brake (ABS) traction control. You can count on active blind-spot detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping and evasion assists, collision mitigation, and low-tire-pressure warning. You won’t need to worry about parking again as this vehicle has a backup camera, automated parking sensors, and a parking assist.
