2021 BMW X7 SUV
What's New for 2021?
For 2021, BMW has dropped the lowest-powered engine spec and added a new premium option to shift the entire range upward in performance. Also, several tech features have been added as standard, including Android Auto to complete the existing smartphone integration options.

Exterior and Styling
The BMW X7 is the company's flagship SUV and its large three-row body has a presence and style that underlines its quality. The large front grille sets the assertive tone, while the long and wide body is sleekly-attention grabbing and avoids the boxiness that afflicts many of its seven-seater competitors.
Under the Hood
You'd expect a BMW to pack a punch under the hood, but the X7 takes performance to an entirely new level. The base xDrive40i X7 version is propelled by 3.0L turbo I-6 pushing out a compelling 335 horsepower and 331lb-ft of torque. All of that power is passed through an eight-speed automatic transmission to all-wheel drive as standard.
The performance-oriented M50i model uses the same transmission and all-wheel drive, but ups the engine ante with a 4.4L twin-turbo V8 mill cranking out 523hp and 553lb-ft. Even for an SUV as large as the X7 this is an exceptional amount of power. However, the X7 is also available with a specially tuned version of the V8, which pushes the ponies up to a stunning 612 hp while cranking up the twist to 590lb-ft. It's hard to think of any vehicle outside the specialist performance sector that boasts these kind of figures, let alone any other family SUV.
Luxury Interior
The interior design builds on the qualities of previous luxury BMW models including the X5 and the 7-Series, but takes things even further upscale. Spacious, comfortable, and absolutely packed with technology, it's an interior that totally defines the luxury SUV segment.
Advanced Infotainment
You won't find a family SUV with better infotainment tech than the 2021 BMW X7. Every single model has a dashboard dominated by both a digital instrument cluster display and a mammoth 12.3" infotainment touchscreen, with many features also controllable by a backup selection of buttons and knobs.
There's also little discrimination between the trims with the X7's other infotainment features. All models in the range feature Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, in-built-navigation, wireless device charging, a Wi-Fi hotspot facility, and a premium ten-speaker sound system for high-quality audio on the move.
