BMW X3 Buying Options
Design
Compact SUVs can easily have a generic look, but the X3 adds plenty of BMW flair to the underlying format. The chunky angles give the reassuring heft of the SUV profile, but the sweeping lines and dominating front end hint at the power that lies under the hood. If you want an SUV that blends into the crowd, don't choose the 2021 BMW X3.
Performance
But it's under the hood where the BMW quality really starts to shine through. The X3 is available in two main variants, the xDrive30i and the high-powered M40i. The first model is equipped with a meaty 2.0L turbo I-4 engine making a healthy 248 horsepower, feeding all-wheel drive through an eight-speed automatic transmission.
And while this level of performance is perfect for high-end daily driving, the M40i takes things a step further with its 3.0L turbo inline-six pushing out fully 382 horsepower, enough to propel the X3 from 0-100kmh in a searing 4.4 seconds.
But whichever engine you choose, the X3 shows all the usual BMW handling hallmarks, and is immense fun to drive.
Interior Features
The list of high-end interior features is long indeed. From 10-way adjustable powered front seats to reclining rear seat backs, multi-zone climate control to heated seats throughout, the X3 interior provides the upscale experience you'd expect from BMW. But the interior is also convenient too, with a cargo capacity of 813L with all seats upright, and 1775L with the rear seats folded down.
Infotainment
As standard, a large 10.3" infotainment touchscreen gives responsive access to Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, in-dash navigation, and a Wi-Fi hotspot facility. And if you need even more, optional extras include wireless smartphone charging and additional USB ports for extra connectivity and charging options.
Safety Features
The Active Driving Assistant package included as standard features a wealth of active safety and driver assist systems, with highlights including forward collision warnings, automated emergency braking, lane departure warnings, and much more.
